If you’re looking for ways to improve the look and feel of your skin, you might consider a cosmetic treatment like anti-wrinkle injections, fillers, or laser skin therapy.
But, while these treatments generally produce excellent results, it’s essential you choose a fully qualified and experienced professional to perform your procedure of choice. Here’s how to choose a cosmetic doctor, whether you want a simple skin rejuvenation, or a more extensive cosmetic treatment.
Ask about professional organisations
It’s very important that your doctor is board-certified, and that they are a member of a reputable professional organisation, such as the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPA) or the International Confederation for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (IPRAS).
Check which treatments are available
Everyone’s needs are different, so it’s important you find a treatment well suited to your skin type, particular condition, and expectations in terms of the desired outcome you are looking for. When it comes to skincare, we offer a range of cosmetic treatments designed to rejuvenate the skin, restore volume, and decrease the visible signs of ageing.
- Dermal fillers
Made from a substance that naturally occurs in the body, dermal fillers are injected into the deep tissue or the surface layers of the skin to restore volume and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
- Anti-wrinkle injections
Anti-wrinkle injections are made with a compound that works to relax the muscles, preventing wrinkles from developing or worsening.
- Chemical peels
Chemical peels help to restore the skin’s luminosity by reducing pigmentation, the visible signs of sun damage, and acne. Generally prescribed in four to six phases of treatment that take place about a month apart, chemical peels take around thirty minutes to complete per session. Over this time, the appearance of the skin gradually improves.
- Laser skin therapy
Laser skin therapy is an advanced anti-ageing treatment that helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It’s a non-invasive treatment and is a highly effective means of evening out the skin tone.
