What does skin needling do?

Skin needling is a minimally invasive treatment for facial rejuvenation

Skin needling, also known as micro-needling therapy, is a non-surgical, minimally invasive procedure to rejuvenate skin. This treatment is based on acupuncture and uses many needles of varying sizes to penetrate deep layers of skin to help repair and rejuvenate trouble areas. The idea behind these needles is that they will stimulate your body’s wound healing response.

Skin needling has been known to help with:

  • Improving skin texture
  • Scarring
  • Stretch marks
  • Smoothing wrinkles and lines

How skin needling can help you

By creating tiny puncture marks, skin needling induces collagen production that can, over time, help to fill in a scar or a stretch mark. In some cases, skin needling can, with enough treatments, make wrinkles less noticeable or remove them. However, each client’s results will be different. It’s always ideal to have a consultation so a member of the Skinhance team can assess your skin and determine what the best option for you is.

Advantage of skin needling

Other treatments often remove the top healthy layer of skin to treat the underlying problems. The many tiny needles of varying length penetrate the deeper layers of skin without attacking the top layer of skin. This reduces the healing time, and can negate problems such as sun sensitivity, hyper pigmentation and skin colour loss.

Getting the best skin care treatment for you

The best skin care treatment for you will depend on your skin type and your desired outcome. Skin needling is great for stretch marks, scars and some wrinkles and fine lines. However, some wrinkles are best treated with either dermal fillers or anti-wrinkle injections. And other skin complaints may be better addressed with the Rationale Skin Care range.
